Subject:Painting a cured doll?

I haven't yet started sculpting so I'm technically not even a newbie yet but I have a question that no one seems to have answered for me yet. I don't quite understand how this would work. If I have a cured clay doll that I have sculpted, is it safe to paint it with Genesis Heat-set paints and cure the paint in the oven, even after the clay itself is cured? I appreciate any information. Also, how would one go about getting a clay doll reproduced into a vinyl doll kit? I haven't found ANY information on that, either. Thank you for your time!

Christina, I have used the heat set Genesis paints and put the cured doll back in the oven to set; No problems. I know several doll artist who do this all the time. Some use a heat set gun. You can get them at a hobby store or a hardware store. Maybe Walmant. As far as getting a doll reproduced into a vinyl kit, here is a website where many of its members have had dolls reproduced into vinyl or resin and you could ask one of them. The web site is www.doll-fan.com , you can read the post for free or join and post questions or comments for $1 a month. Good luck, chris

Thank you very much Chris! I'm so glad I don't have to buy a whole new set of paints. And I will check out that doll fan website, thanks for that information. I really appreciate it!
