Subject:Midwest City Doll Expo 2009 in Okla

The Expo 2009 Doll Show is on September 26 and 27. It opens at 10am on Sat. and closes at 5pm. On Sunday, it closes at 4pm , opens at 10am. It will be located at Midwest City , the Community Center, 100N. Midwest Blvd. Mis Admission is only $5 and children under 12 free. This is the first time I have attended, I met the chairman Jody Cook at another doll show in Okla city in May this year. For more information you can go to www.ourvilladolls.com/pdbao. This doll is mostly porcelain dolls but the chairman Jody cook saw my ooak dolls and invited me to attend. They are very open to ooak artist and reborn artist, so if you can come it would be great. They may also have some booth space left if you want to show your dolls. Just go to the web site I have show here at Our Villa Dolls and check with Jody!

Hi everyone, I got back yesterday from the Midwest City doll show and let me tell you, the attendence was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy low. I haven't done this show before, but I am going by what the other vendors reported that the past shows had been. And , of course, what I saw. And on the second day, there was only a few people shopping who were not also showing. But, I won a blue ribbon, First Prize, for one of my dolls. Yeah, you guessed it, there was not much competition(:. And I sold 3 miniature dolls and a few odds and ends. The hightlight for me is that I met Shirley Standley(hope I spelled your last name right , Shirley), from this forum. She is a joy of a person, great personality! I met Marita Winter, she didnt have a booth , but entered a doll in the competition and won a First Prize. She also donated one of her resin babies for the helper's table drawing. I wanted to win it so bad, but was glad when a friend , Kathy, who does the most beautiful reborns, did win it. She was a very lucky lady! I also visited with Rhonda Waters who is a member of the PDMAG . Rhonda is a wonderful person and a wonderful sculptor. She taught a class on smocking ! All in all, I lost money , but I learned a great deal from talking to the other vendors, and I got some leds on some , hopefully, bigger shows that are also near enough to me that I can drive to them. My husband and I both enjoyed the experience!

Hi Shirley, I'm glad you liked my "Hildy"(competition doll). You know that is the first award that I have won with my dolls and I just entered her at the last minute. I liked her expression. Yes, I thought everyone was very nice at this show. They were so friendly and helpful to me as a new comer. And some of the vendors had such pretty things to sell that it was all I could do not to buy a bit of everythingLOL. I walked around some and looked and tried to keep my mind off of all the supplies and pretty dolls. I have been working on a head with morning, I think I will get back to it . chris
